Sowerby Centre for Health Informatics at Newcastle (SCHIN)
The Sowerby Centre for Health Informatics at Newcastle (SCHIN) is a not-for-profit
company that delivers high quality NHS services.
SCHIN was formed in 1993, originally as an academic research organization within
the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. It has established itself as a centre of
large scale, evidence-based, knowledge authoring and many other significant and
innovative health informatics projects which are currently at the heart of the NHS
information services.
SCHIN became a private company, limited by guarantee, in 2001, company registration
number 04210296 and is part of the SCHIN / i4u group.
